is a small practice that operates between architecture, research and academia. driven by an interest in existing structures and their potential for transformation, the office explores what preservation means today and how reuse can transcend purely ecological motivations and generate new architectural discourses. the office was founded in 2022 by laura solsona and eduard fernàndez.

the bookshelf consists of five white melamine boards sustained by twenty-three masonry concrete blocks, constructing three column-like elements within the domestic interior. the white paint softens the visual weight of the concrete, reducing its roughness and allowing the structure to read as part of the room rather than as a purely technical assembly. in contrast, the blue paint reinforces the classical compositional logic of the column, clearly articulating base, shaft, and capital.

conceived as both furniture and architectural element, the bookshelf operates at the scale of the body, inviting occupation, touch, and informal use. its presence introduces a playful yet precise relationship between structure, object, and everyday life, blurring the boundary between construction and furnishing and turning a simple domestic device into a playful ready-made.
