is a small practice that operates between architecture, research and academia. driven by an interest in existing structures and their potential for transformation, the office explores what preservation means today and how reuse can transcend purely ecological motivations and generate new architectural discourses. the office was founded in 2022 by laura solsona and eduard fernàndez.

The proposal takes advantage of the periurban character of the site and the natural slope of the terrain to fragment the building into three volumes, freeing up space for a new public square that acts as a scenic lookout towards Tiana’s historic centre and the church of Sant Cebrià.
This elevated plaza becomes the heart of a network of green paths and platforms, linking the Dioptria Space with the Camí Mig d’Alella and forming a linear park down to the stream. The strategy enhances natural ventilation, sunlight, and air quality across the site.
A new urban square is proposed at the entrance of the existing facility—partially sunken into the terrain—framed by deciduous trees and shrubs that offer seasonal comfort and reinforce its civic character.
